Our story begins with two sisters, united by personal challenges and a determination to change their lives. One of us has long suffered from excessive hair growth, while the other faced the effects of polycystic ovary syndrome. These experiences have confronted us with daily struggles that impacted our confidence and well-being.
One day, after hearing about intense pulsed light (IPL) hair removal, we decided to explore this revolutionary technology. What we discovered profoundly changed our perception of hair removal: IPL laser offers a solution that is not only effective and long-lasting but also gentle and safe for the skin.
Thanks to thorough research and technological advancements, this method allows for the targeting of hair follicles while preserving the integrity of the surrounding skin. Empowered by this discovery, we decided to embark on this entrepreneurial journey.
We created our company with the mission of providing the highest quality IPL laser hair removal treatments that are accessible and tailored to everyone’s needs. We selected state-of-the-art devices to ensure maximum effectiveness and optimal comfort for our clients.

BUILDING A GLOBAL BRAND
Inspired by her mother’s creation – and incredible skin – Carol’s daughter Tera came to her with a vision: to build NuFACE into a global brand of innovative skincare technology. She went to work, following in her mother’s footsteps to become a licensed aesthetician. After training extensively in microcurrent technology and building a global business plan, Tera’s sister Kim came on board to help take NuFACE to the next level.
The mother-daughter team grew NuFACE doing what they knew best – helping clients. The result was a meticulously engineered device that served the clients’ unique needs. Demand for the NuFACE device soared through word of mouth and client referrals, a further testament to the power of microcurrent.
Today, Tera Peterson leads NuFACE as Co-Founder & CEO, and Kim Morales serves as Co-Founder & Director of Logistics. What once was three-person team shipping devices out of their home in Encinitas has grown to over 100 employees with NuFACE headquarters and NuSPA in San Diego. The family home where Carol, Tera, and Kim founded the brand now serves as the House of NuFACE – a redesigned vacation retreat where guests of the brand can relax and unwind.
